Chasing the Sun : A Mountain’s Morning Glory

The Story

I started this journey the evening before, hiking up a jagged trail with 20 kilograms of gear strapped to my back. My campsite was a ledge high above the tree line, chosen for one reason only: the view. I set up camp and waited for morning.

Before the sun broke the horizon, a subtle blue began to creep across the sky. I made my way to a rock outcrop, camera ready. Then, the sun rose — not suddenly, but like a slow exhale — and the world below was transformed. Light touched the mountain ridges, outlining each peak like golden threads woven into the fabric of the earth.

In that brief moment, I felt small but purposeful. The photo I took that morning wasn’t just a landscape; it was a celebration of endurance — both mine and the mountain's.
