A quiet lakeside scene tucked away from any tourist route. I would never have found it if not for a hand-drawn map given to me by a local in a nearby town. He called it “the mirror lake,” and I was instantly intrigued.

When I arrived after an hour-long trek, the lake was completely still. Its turquoise water reflected the sky and mountains with such clarity that it was hard to tell where reality ended and reflection began. A lone swimmer broke the surface far in the distance, adding a sense of life to an otherwise untouched scene.
